Bought this to hatch some chicks and it did just that. On the first try I was successful got 8 out of 9. The only thing I don’t like is how snug it is when the eggs hatch, not enough room for them to really get out of their eggs. Kinda worried about hatching duck eggs because they are larger in size.

My neighbor said this Christmas present failed his or his children's science project needs. I will ask more later. For now I merely indicate this is an unwise Christmas present.

The incubator works great all except for when they hatch. The incubator needs to be build taller. When our chicks started hatching, they were able to knock the lid off because the incubator was not tall enough for the chick to stand in. We would have been in trouble if they hatched at night and we didn't see the lid off.

I really liked that it was an incubator and egg tester in one. I knew the eggs were changing and starting to smell, but didn’t know why. I’m a novice who took a bird that needed a home and was told it was a male. Imagine my surprise when “he” laid eggs. Because of the candle tester, I was able to see that the eggs were not fertile and was able to replace them with fake eggs.

You half to figure out what button battery to buy for the hydrometer other than that it's fine.

Limited instructions. Followed but not sure if I did correct.

The incubator was too shallow for regular sized chicken eggs, never mind large eggs! The water reservoir is very tiny and I had to fill it multiple times a day. It was difficult to regulate temperature because you have to open the incubator to fill the reservoir. We had 3 eggs that fertilized but did not get to hatching because of all that. Would not buy again!
